VolunteerVolunteer

With a small staff, Georgetown Ministry Center relies on the support of volunteers to keep our center operating at its highest potential. We are always looking for volunteers to support staff in the center, lead programming, manage our clothes closet, or help staff with administrative work.  Learn more.

Meal DonationMeal Donations

Day Center: Though we are not a meal program, we accept sandwiches and other prepared food (note: we are limited by space constraints and do not have a stove or oven). To add your name to our meal calendar, please contact  us info@gmcgt.org or 202-338- 8301 x 2.

Winter Shelter: Dinner is gratefully accepted November through April in our Winter Shelter. You can organize a group of 6-8 people to prepare and serve a meal for 20 people. We request that meals include a main course, two vegetable dishes, beverages and a dessert. Please call 202-338- 8301 or email info@gmcgt.org to set up a date to volunteer.

Clothing Donations

We accept gently used seasonal clothing that is clean and in good condition! We are particularly in need of large and plus-size clothing for men, sneakers that are in good condition, and new, unopened socks and undergarments for men and women. Our guests are most in need of casual clothing for every-day wear; dress clothes and more formal or work-attire and shoes (such as women’s pumps) are better sent to organizations such as Dress for Success or Bread for the City.
