Georgetown 5k Race Against Homelessness

This year, GMC is once again partnering with Georgetown University’s Center for Social Justice to host the Georgetown 5k Race Against Homelessness! Join us for a 5k run or 2k walk through Georgetown’s historic campus to help us end chronic homelessness in Georgetown. Afterwards, participants are invited to the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration, featuring local music, food, and family-friendly fun. If you cannot participate in the race, no problem. You are invited to purchase a ticket to the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration!

FAQs

How much is registration?

Race registration is $15 for ages 23 and under and $25 for ages 24 and up if you register prior to the day of the race.

Day-of registration is $20 for ages 23 and under and $30 for ages 24 and up.

What does the price of registration include?

The registration fee includes participation in the timed event and post-race festivities. Walkers/runners will receive a reusable water bottle, swag bag, pre-race snacks, and access to food and activities at the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration.

How much is the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration?

The registration fee for walkers and runners includes access to the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration as well as one free meal ticket.

For those not running or walking, food tickets are $4.99 each. One food ticket buys one hamburger and drink OR two hot dogs and a drink OR two slices of pizza and a drink.

For youth or children not running or walking, $15 purchases a bracelet which provides access to all Spring Fling Activities including bounce castles, the carnival, cotton candy, popcorn and other snacks and activities.

What is the race course?

The 5K route includes two laps through the heart of Georgetown University’s historic campus. See map (coming soon) for details!

Where can I park?

Limited street parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding Georgetown University. On Sundays, street parking is free. There is also parking available at the Southwest Quad Garage off of Canal Road.

How do I create a team?

When you register, you will see a button that reads Join/Create a Team. Click it, and then you will have the option of creating a Walking Team, Running Team, or a Walking/Running Team with both walkers or runners.
