This year, GMC once again partnered with Georgetown University’s Center for Social Justice to host the Georgetown 5k Race Against Homelessness! Hundreds of runners, walkers, and supporters gathered on Sunday, March 26 on the historic campus of Georgetown University to raise funds for the work of Georgetown Ministry Center and shed light on the issue of homelessness in the Georgetown community.
After the 5k run and 2k walk, participants enjoyed the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration, featuring food, performances by Georgetown University student groups, and family-friendly fun. The event raised $18,000 for the work of Georgetown Ministry Center!
The three fastest male runners were:

Registration is now open for both the race and the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration! Sign up on our RunSignUp website.
Race registration is $15 for ages 23 and under and $25 for ages 24 and up if you register prior to the day of the race.
Day-of registration is $20 for ages 23 and under and $30 for ages 24 and up.
The registration fee includes participation in the timed event and post-race festivities. Walkers/runners will receive a reusable water bottle, swag bag, pre-race coffee & snacks, and access to food and activities at the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration.
The registration fee for walkers and runners includes access to the Post-Race and Spring Fling Celebration as well as one free meal ticket.
For those not running or walking, food tickets are $4.99 each. One food ticket buys one hamburger and drink OR two hot dogs and a drink OR two slices of pizza and a drink.
For youth or children not running or walking, $15 purchases a bracelet which provides access to all Spring Fling Activities including bounce castles, the carnival, cotton candy, popcorn and other snacks and activities.
The 5K route includes two laps through the heart of Georgetown University’s historic campus. See map (coming soon) for details!
Limited street parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding Georgetown University. On Sundays, street parking is free. There is also parking available at the Southwest Quad Garage off of Canal Road.
When you register, you will see a button that reads Join/Create a Team. Click it, and then you will have the option of creating a Walking Team, Running Team, or a Walking/Running Team with both walkers or runners.
