Gunther has a very poignant, heartfelt piece on the front page. We hope you will take the time to read it and let us know your thoughts and if you’re interested in learning more.

What else is in the newsletter? Reflections from two volunteers, recaps of our special events, and how the loss of Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless has impacted GMC. Read about it today!

September — a flurry of back-to-school activities, the start of cooler weather, and the release of our Fall Newsletter! You should read it. Here are three reasons why:

  1. There’s a thought piece by Gunther, in which he discusses how “we don’t want to make it illegal to be homeless and mentally ill. We want to make it legal to help!”
  2. We have shared some really wonderful stories about relapse and recovery, saving lives, and building trust.
  3. There are some important announcements regarding changes to our clothing closet, our upcoming events, and how you can help GMC.

This winter took a toll on everyone. We bundled up best we could, kept our heads down to keep our faces protected from the cold, and wished the winter away. When the trees began to bloom, we all cheered and kicked away any lingering thoughts of winter.

Now, it’s almost summer. I know you’re probably all focused on thoughts of the beach, but humor us and take a few minutes to read our Spring Newsletter. It’ll prove to you that this winter wasn’t all bad AND give you something to look forward to in the Fall!

Miss what, you ask? Our winter newsletter, of course!

It is packed to the brim with some amazing stories detailing the welcoming environment we create in the center, how it helped us house two individuals this fall, and an editorial piece by Dr. Ron Koshes, our psychiatrist. They all tie together, and we hope it will paint a picture detailing what we do, the challenges we face, and how we overcome them.

Hard copies of our newsletter are at the printer’s right now, but we could not wait to share it with you electronically. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to hear more about all of the amazing things that have been happening in our center!
