This month, GMC is ecstatic to announce that our Drop-In Center is entering Phase 2 of reopening! In Phase 2, our guests are able to access computer services and restrooms. The spring 2020 renovation of the Drop-In Center provided GMC the ability to safely continue to provide our guests the shower, laundry, meal, and mail services they rely on. A year later, Phase 2 helps to expand GMC’s reach, and give our guests critical services, the safest way possible. While masked up, and socially distanced, our Drop-In Center has a renewed energy as guests are welcomed back in to use our computers and restrooms!

After a full year of the COVID-19 lockdown, Georgetown Ministry Center is proud of our community’s flexibility in the face of so many setbacks. When GMC saw that it was no longer safe for our guests to come into the Drop-In-Center, our team knew it was time to go out into the community and meet people where they are.
The success of the new GMC Extends and revitalized Street Outreach Program demonstrates the power of our community, and supporters like you. However, over the past month, the number of guests utilizing GMC’s services have doubled. The pandemic continues to disproportionately affect the poor and the need for assistance continues to grow. Your support fuels GMC’s programmatic growth to serve everyone in need. GMC is home base for many individuals experiencing homelessness, and our pandemic pivots maintain our sense of community and bond with one another.
During this jump into spring, the generous love and support from you will continue to help Georgetown Ministry Center’s mission of seeking last solutions to homelessness one person at a time. All DONATIONS will help us grow our new programs and continue to serve our most vulnerable neighbors.
